Woke up to cold Fall weather this morning and by 6 am, it was a brisk 30 degrees. Days like this is when layering is not just a fashion statement but also practical as temps start to rise throughout the day. Here in Colorado, where it’s sunny over 300 days of the year, the temperature can be affected by the amount of sunlight we get…50 and sunny feels like 60 while 50 and cloudy/windy feels like 40. So as you can see from the sample set above, peeling off the layers as it warms up can be such a relief especially when driving and sunlight is more intense. In cases where I don’t want to remove a pullover or sweater and mess up my do (vain much?) or get make up on my clothes, I can substitute with a cardigan instead.
By the way, I also almost always wear a tank top as a foundation for my outfit for added insulation…I get cold easily. My favorites are the Mossimo tank tops from Target (here) and also from Forever 21 (here).
The J.Crew La Parisienne sweater in the set above is no longer available but a J.Crew Factory version may still be available in store (see online here). The J.Crew excursion vest is still available both at J.Crew Factory (here) and J.Crew (here). A less expensive version is also available at Old Navy here – more colors available in store.
Layering is a fun way to stay warm with endless possibilities…that’s it for now!
Cute.
