As the weather starts to cool down (thank goodness) this week, I’ll begin to transition my everyday outfits from the usual summer fare but not so much that I have to overhaul my closet. It’s a pretty easy transition actually – here in Colorado, we’re lucky enough to have a gradual cooling down which makes seasonal wardrobe transitions easy.
As you can see below, my basics are pretty, well uhm, basic. I work in a business casual office, more on the casual side. My work outfits depend on my mood and the weather. During Fall, layering is a must as the morning starts out cooler than the rest of the day. This is such an easy way to get dressed in the morning — a tee with an interesting print or pop of color, a basic cardi (usually from J.Crew, Madewell, Banana Republic or Ann Taylor), favorite jeans, comfy/cute flats and a practical carryall.
Of course, to mix it up a bit — I usually change the cardi to a blazer, the tee to a fun sweater or embellished sweats and the flats to a classic pair of boots. And let’s not forget added accessories like scarves and sparkly baubles, all of which can breathe new life to old staples in your wardrobe.
