This morning as the hubby handed me my travel coffee mug and as I gave him a kiss and hug goodbye before leaving for work, he teasingly asked me if it’s ok to wear white after Labor Day. I laughed and told him that not wearing white after Labor Day is an antiquated fashion rule. In fact, I think it’s quite chic to wear white jeans paired with a neutral shade like black, navy, gray or camel during Winter time. The Old Navy Rock Star white skinny jeans in my outfit today is so comfy that it’s going to be in heavy rotation for the next few cold months. The metallic silver cardigan from J.Crew is an old buy from a couple of years back…love everything about this cardigan, the fit, the shape, the sheen, the front pockets – it’s perfect for this time of the year. It’s long sold out of course but you can find other metallic J.Crew cardigans on eBay worth perusing here, and the actual same cardigan here (gently used) with a “Buy It Now” price of $23.99 in XS (it runs big – I got it in small but has a baggy fit). It also came in metallic gold (see here) – which I have in the Factory version.
What do you think of wearing white? Is it strictly a warm weather staple or year-round workhorse? What other fashion rules do you think are long passe?
I LOVE white, even more in winter I don’t know why…I don’t think I have rules to wear clothes and colors, I just try to wear what I like ( sometimes buy more what I like than wear…:-P) following the weather. White is chic on winter, don’t you thin? Love your outfit, I’ll be copying it…xo
Thank you! I couldn’t agree more…I think it’s perfect for winter. Even on men…Michael Kors always wears white jeans with black tee or turtle neck sweater, very chic. Enjoy your weekend!
