I’m on a constant hunt for the perfect nude or beige/pink nail polish. It’s become an obsession. It used to be an obsession I had with lip glosses which has now been replaced by the quest for the best nude nail polish. I’m almost embarassed to show my nail polish collection because they border on the side of insanity…every nude or pale pink color of almost every brand. I also have a tendency to buy the same color more than once because I often forget what I already have at home. Thank goodness for the invention of the iPhone…I’m now easily able to keep track of my nail polish colors using the Notes app. Funny enough, the best nude nail polish I’ve found so far is the Sonia Kashuk Sugar Rush from Target.
Recently, I stumbled upon the ELF nail polish collection at Target and lo and behold, yes, another nude nail polish in the bunch. The colors don’t have a name…they’re numbered and the one I purchased is #28, a creamy beigy (surprise) and slightly taupey number. At $2.00 per bottle, I thought I’d give it a whirl. The bottle is small and has a reptile print on the lid, very cute packaging. The applicator brush is very short and a little bit hard to apply at first. It’s also quite streaky which means having to apply several coats to get a nice finish and even then, as you can see from the pics, it’s clear why it’s only $2. Granted, I’m not the greatest at applying nail polish which is probably why I gravitate towards nude or neutral shades (imperfections are not as obvious).
All in all, it’s a “so-so” polish for $2. I also got another shade #23 which is a metallic burgundy-ish or rust color. I’ll post pics after I play with it.
What do you think of ELF or have you found some fun nail polishes lately?
