* Close representation of what I actually own
So while preparing my home for Thanksgiving house guests, I decided to turn our guest room into my “Mom Cave/walk-in closet” of sorts. I know, it doesn’t make sense…where will my guests sleep? Well, I set them up in my youngest daughter Lulu’s bedroom while Lulu slept in the guest room which still has her old twin bed. Anyway, what’s the point of this long-winded story? In the course of organizing my now Mom Cave, I was flabbergasted by the number of sweaters/cardigans I own. For a woman with a virtual moniker of “luv2shopmom”, this shouldn’t come as a surprise but nevertheless, it made me seriously consider my shopping choices and frequency. So as a first step and as illustrated above, I will shop my stash of sweaters for the first 25 days of December, a sort of countdown to Christmas. The sweaters with the yellow asterisk are a close representation if not an actual cheaper dup of what I own. Similar to the Project 333 approach, I’m trying to shop my own closet more vs. just buying more of the same things I obviously don’t need (whoa…did I actually say that?).
The sequence the sweaters appear above are not necessarily the order that I will wear them; it’ll really depend on the weather (cold or colder) and my mood. To keep me honest, I will take a snapshot of each sweater I wear and post it here. I’m not going to lie; this will be hard for me — we all know that this month brings with it some really great sales and I don’t need much convincing in picking up more uhm, yes sweaters. A quick caveat: I may switch out of or two of the sweaters for another if my mood calls for it but rest assured, the replacements won’t be new.
First up is a recent American Eagle sweater/shirt with side zippers…love this easy going top — I love layering it with a brighter shirt or stripe tee for some added interest. Wore this Sunday, December 1st, while out to dinner with my family. Monday will be a mild weather day and a busy day at work so it’ll have to be a lightweight and casual choice..stay tuned.
Well…that’s it for now – wish me luck with my sweater weather effort and enjoy your week!
