Mountain Time and Italy Time….Nordstrom two-face watch

My kids are on Fall break this week so my hubby took us out to lunch yesterday after the girls’ appointment at the doctor’s.  (Fall break…sigh…why can’t grown ups have Fall breaks too?)  Deciding on where to eat is always a contentious discussion in our family.  My Lulu is a very picky eater while my Boo will try or eat anything except McDonald’s burgers (which I’m happy about).  She is now grossed out by most burgers after learning in school what goes into the ground meat.  My hubby on the other hand needs to be careful what he eats because of stomach issues while I need to watch my sugar intake.  Growing old is soooo fun.

Anyway, we settled on Nordstrom Cafe…it’s always a crowd pleaser for us.  I love their iced tea with the orange slices – I’m somewhat addicted to iced tea and iced latte.  It’s one of our favorite places to go for a quick bite especially before or after shopping.  After lunch, with the cafe strategically placed at the top floor, we walked by the Brass Plum jewelry section where I spotted a display of dainty watches.  With all the ginormous watches lately, it was nice to see some demure sizes for a change.  The Titanium mint green with two faces caught my eye – it’s so pretty and lady-like and the two faces were unusual I thought.  (Titanium is the brand name; it’s not actually made of titanium.)  The photos below are coming off more like Tiffany blue but it’s actually green IRL.  I looked at the price tag – $18 – wow…not bad.  The hubby saw that I was eyeing it for a few minutes…after I put it back on the display he grabbed it and bought it for me.  I wouldn’t have bought it for myself; don’t need another watch but it was so sweet that he got it for me instead.  I do adore this watch – it’s different than most of the watches I have now and quite dainty.

Now the big question:  what time should I have the second face set on?  I’m not taking this decision lightly – right now both are set for the exact same time until I make up my mind.  I was thinking it should be the time of a place that will make me smile when I look at my watch, perhaps a destination that I’ve been longing to visit.  I narrowed it down to France, Italy or Bora Bora.  I’ve been to Italy and loved it (my husband’s parents live there) but I’ve never been to France or Bora Bora.  After much contemplation, I think I’m going to set it to Italy’s time – it’ll bring me back to the fabulous vacation/honeymoon my husband and I had about 16 years ago now and maybe motivate me to get off my butt to plan another trip – we’re due.  My father-in-law has never met my youngest so I’d better get this plan going soon.

If you’re interested in this watch, I believe it just came out so be sure to check it out at your local Nordstrom or online here.  What about you?  What time would you set the second face on and why?
