Woke up to a Winter wonderland today…what happened to Fall? Luckily, I didn’t have far to drive first thing this morning; I went to my Boo’s school for a breakfast event called “Writing is Power”. It was really nice; all the Moms brought breakfast items (doughnuts, muffins, fruit, cinnamon buns…yum!), then we gathered in circles and listened to each student read their essays about different topics assigned by the teacher. I was amazed at the imagination and creativity of the 6th graders, including my daughter of course. Writing IS Power! The written word can have such a powerful impact; I’m happy to see that kids are being taught this lesson.
Back to more trivial matters (kidding!)…my OOTD was obviously dictated by the plunging temps. The pink heart sweater is another great find at F21; there are many incarnations of this sweater this year (J.Crew, Gap, Old Navy, etc.). It was the last one they had; thank goodness the small fit me. The fit is loose so size down if you happen to find it. The material tag lists 56% acrylic, 29% nylon/polyamide and 5% wool (wow..that’s precise); it’s very cozy, soft and cuddly, not flimsy or itchy at all, and it’s machine washable. The UGG snow boots were a bargain snag at a Saks Fifth Avenue outlet store – it was on sale with an additional 30% off – I’ve had it for a few years. It’s the only UGG boots I own – I’m not a fan of the Classic UGG boots; they look great on others but on me, it feels like I’ve morphed into an abominable snow woman. My quilted coat is Laundry by Shelli Segal from TJ Maxx. TJ Maxx has some really nice coat selections when the timing is right – at the beginning of the cold weather season so be sure to check it out.
