A gift card from TJ Maxx was burning a hole in my wallet so I stopped by to see if there was anything worth picking up. These discount stores like TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Ross are nice if you’re looking for a bargain especially for home goods but with fashion items, not very consistent. They have mostly stuff from past seasons, overstocks or imperfect goods so it’s often hit or miss. I did however managed to find a couple of cute stuff this time around….if these are items that you’re curious about – stop by your local TJ Maxx.
1) Anchor shorts – this is a nice pair, a dup to those at J.Crew, Old Navy, Dockers, etc. etc. It’s a steal at $15 – from the Valerie Bertinelli for TJ Maxx line. I didn’t even know she had a fashion line…she also has a home goods line at TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Home Goods, btw. The material is more refined on this one (97% cotton, 3% elastane) – it has trouser pockets (which I love) and has a navy background with white anchor print. It’s a 3″ in seam, seems to run true to size. I wear a size 4 in J.Crew shorts – got it in the same size with this one. Not that you would be able to order it online anyway…these discount stores don’t have online stores 😦
2) Mesh shawl cardigan in heather oatmeal – I’ve been looking for a lightweight cardigan for the Spring/Summer season; this is perfect especially with the subtle mesh. It’s cute over a contrasting color tank top when it’s warm out but too cool for when the air conditioning is turned up indoors. It’s from a brand named “Belldini” (never heard). They have a website here but the merchandise seems pricey and not really my style. It sells for $25 at TJ Maxx and comes in various other colors (black and pink). If you’re looking for something lightweight and easy breezy, this may be the cardigan for you.
That’s it for now!
Excuse my pasty white legs…time for a faux tan!
