I have been an avid Nordstrom shopper for decades now. The first Nordstrom I ever went into was at the Cerritos Mall in Southern California; many firsts occurred that day for me. First time I saw and bought makeup at the Mac counter. First time I received great customer service at a department store…and when I say great, I mean that sincerely. From that day on, I was hooked. Over the years, I’ve had somewhat consistent service, some better than others – from my experience, consistent great service is at the South Coast Plaza store but unfortunately I no longer live in the OC 😦 I’ve had some lackluster service elsewhere but I remained a loyal customer…even at their cafes…our family loves eating at the Nordstrom Cafe.
I’m sure I’m so late in the game on this…I don’t know when this price-matching policy launched but it just reinforced and validated my love of Nordstrom. Recently, I went back to the mother ship while on vacation in SoCal. I bought a pair of Tory Burch Miller sandals at regular price (the pair pictured above), at their South Coast Plaza store. When I returned home to Colorado, I saw the Shopbop annual 25% off everything sale and was dismayed to see they carry the exact same Miller sandals. So I contacted my SA and asked if the price matching applied to Tory Burch items and it did (insert celebration dance here). She took care of the price adjustment for me over the phone; I didn’t even have to come into the store. I’d like to point out that my SA was on her way out the door on a Friday night when I emailed her; she stayed and called me to take care of everything. Now that’s customer service!
Why am I bringing this up now? Well, around this time all these Friends and Family or Spring time sales come up and in fact, the big sale at Tory Burch is going on now (see here). So if you’ve purchased something at full price or plan on doing so, use price-matching to get your item at Nordstrom especially if you don’t want to pay for shipping (TB offers 2-day free shipping only if you use PayPal or if your total is over $300). Bottom line is, we all work hard for our money and we should patronize businesses that take care of their customers…Nordstrom believes that as well. Hope you find this helpful and happy shopping!
