Happy New Year! I’ve been MIA for the last few weeks for good reason. I’ve been plagued with one major illness after another since after Thanksgiving. First, it was strep throat which I’ve never had before…I regressed into babyhood with that one…that was a different kind of pain. After being sick for about a week and a half with strep, I was ok for about a week when lo and behold, I got another bad cold which is still with me right now. Good Lord…you’d think I went around licking door knobs…but I really didn’t. And of course, I was so concerned with giving my girls my germs that I couldn’t really get close to them for most of the time. That’s probably the hardest part of it especially during the Newtown tragedy; I just wanted to scoop them up in my arms and hug them but I couldn’t risk giving them my strep throat..that was tough.
Anyhow, don’t want to cast a heavy cloud over this post…I wanted to quickly post my daily make up routine using only products that don’t have the nasty (unnecessary) products that most cosmetics do such as parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrance, propylene glycol, etc. These ingredients don’t agree with my skin and rightly so, they’re not meant for use on human skin. Anyway, if you’re on the hunt for the same type of products, I would highly recommend starting with these brands: Korres, Tarte, Burt’s Bees and Josie Maran. I especially love the Josie Maran moisturizing stick in clear…it’s awesome for dry skin during these cold winter days devoid of moisture. It’s been my lifesaver.
Hope you’ve had a wonderful holiday season. I’ll be blogging more regularly from here on (unless I’m out for the count again, fingers crossed that I don’t sick again for a while)!
