So I recently went to JCPenney’s to look for comfy flip flops that have better support. I’ve been experiencing pains on my right heel, especially in the morning…the first steps after getting out of bed are not pleasant. My husband had fasciitis plantar a few years back; he says my symptoms are exactly like his. Aging is so fun! Anyway, I had to give in to reality and actually consider wearing shoes with support and cushion..problem is, most of them are hideous. I have a collection of really cute Capri leather flip flops from J.Crew that I adore but they are the worst for my feet….sigh! I did find a good pair of Clark’s flip flops that weren’t ugly (sorry, that’s the best compliment I could muster); we’ll see how they stand up (no pun intended).
The nice surprise though about going to JCPenney’s is the huge array of great new Spring fashion. Also, the store itself looked like it was re-organized…it looked less cluttered and had a nice area of “basics”, similar to what J.Crew and Gap carries but less frou frou. Don’t get me wrong…I love JC frou frou but when my budget doesn’t, this is a great alternative. So if you haven’t been to JCPenney’s in a while or at all…take a look, you might find something worth picking up.
This MNG brand sweater looks oddly familiar ;)…it’s clearly a dup to the J.Crew version below it – the MNG sweater is $35 while the J.Crew handknit fair isle sweater is currently on sale for $460.

Here are some pics from the store I visited:

The items I picked up are shown below (click on the small image at the bottom to go to the links).
