It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of The Limited; I’ve shopped there for decades now, ever since I started working in the corporate world. I like their mix of professional wardrobe that can also be dressed down, without verging on the teeny bopper side. And it’s not exactly Coldwater Creek (now defunct), Talbot’s or Chico’s either….nicely in the middle instead. My favorite items to pick up at TL are their blazers, dresses and button down shirts, all of which seem to always fit me perfectly. And although the material quality is not always the best (specifically with their polyester shirts), the value you get for the price point is reasonable. Most importantly, I feel confident and dare I say it, pretty, in their stuff…a factor that can’t be discounted, am I right ladies? Other brands that evoke the same feeling are J.Crew, Loft, Ann Taylor and Old Navy. This list used to include Banana Republic and Gap but lately, not so much (wah wah).
Back to The Limited…with the promotions/sales they almost always have, I recently picked up some items that I am loving. I almost never ever return items to TL but this time I did; I really wanted to love the navy belted nautical dress but in a rare disappointment, my normal size 4 was too tight (in the torso but loose in the bottom half) and the size 6 was too big all over….sigh. The rest of the items pictured below are all keepers…can’t wait to start styling them 🙂
For reference, I’m 5’4″, 128 lbs. and I normally take a size 4 in TL dresses and skirts, small in their blazers and tops. Click the links in the images above to see these items on the TL website.
I love this dress! It’s flowy and flattering for those of us with tummy issues. Love the geo print too! It’s fully lined, fits TTS (this is a 4).
This is the dress I returned; I love the navy color, the nautical print, the pockets and the material but the fit was off. The 4 was too small in the torso but the 6 was too big.
This skirt is the same print as the dress above; it also comes in red online (which I may still get) – I love this skirt!! The length is modest, perfect with a cute sweater and statement necklace. This is a size Small. The necklace is also from TL.
This short sleeved sweater top has a sporty nautical vibe. I love its simplicity and versatility. Material is very soft, I got a Medium, although the Small fits too, for a more relaxed look.
The items below were from a more recent visit, coinciding with Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale.
Love the perennial Ashton shirt and this print especially in burgundy. I always get it in a small which fits me perfectly (except the sleeve length). The boots are the Frye Melissa tab boots from the Nordstrom sale still in progress. Highly recommend!!
This top is so pretty in person; I was immediately drawn to the rich color. And the back! So fun! This is a size small which fits perfectly.
