I typically don’t like to spend a lot of money on trendy items; it just isn’t practical to shell out a lot for fashion trends that will be tomorrow’s “that’s so last year” hashtag. And I enjoy more classic pieces anyway but now and again, we have to interject more current items to liven up our wardrobe and bring it to the 21st century. Now this particular trend has actually stuck around for a while now and it looks like it may become a perennial item. And if I’m being honest, I lusted after the more expensive versions from the Vince line I saw at Nordstrom (see here and here) but thankfully, logic (and wallet constraints) won over.
I happen to receive an email from JCPenney about a recent sale with additional % off and that is when I found this pair from their a.n.a. line. I decided to give it a try, ordered it online and had it shipped to a nearby store to avoid any shipping fees. Here are some thoughts on this pair:
Fit: I got it in a size 6 and it fits true to size. Although the strap part is a tiny bit too big but that’s probably due to my skinny ankles. The toe box area fits fine as well in the medium width.
Material: It’s faux leather material which can sometimes look cheap but this one looks fine to me. I love that it has a Velcro closure, makes it so easy put on and take off.
Comfort: The ball of the foot area needs a gel pad; although I haven’t worn it for long periods of time, I can tell that it will be uncomfortable after a few hours of wear. I will update this post after I’ve worn it a few times with a gel pad.
Overall: For the price, I think it’s worth it. I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars.
Here are some pictures of it worn with skinny jeans. Love its versatility, dressed up or down, this style can be a nice addition to any wardrobe. JCPenney has an extra 25% off online sale going on now until midnight tonight so I provided other options from the same a.n.a. line above, all on sale (+25% off) – click here to view the sale. That’s it for now!!
